"Pimpy!!.... Ah! April fools Chauvelin!"

Soooo.... Scarlet Pimpernel at the Hale Center Theatre was FANTASTIC!! :)
It really made me crave so bad to be in a play once again, because in case you didn't know, I LOVE acting! :) Pretty sure I get that from my Mom, since she majored in Acting..... :)

Anyway, they put on an awesome show, in a really small space, which I thought drew the crowd in really well. The effects were awesome, the costumes fantastic, and the performers gave it their all because I am pretty sure tonight was closing night.

If you saw it, I hope you agree with me that they did a GREAT job!! :) Good job especially to Chauvelin! You were the best in the whole play! That's all for tonight! :D

Thanksgiving....... thoughts! :)

Well, as I sit here on this thanksgiving morning, my tummy can't help but think about the deliciousness that will be before me later today in the evening..... around dinner time...... yeah around there.....

But we can't forget the real reason we should truly appreciate Thanksgiving Day.

We all are lucky enough to live in a fantastic place, where we have a roof over our heads, and enough food in our bodies to keep us healthy and happy.

We have family all around us, and tons of friends to be with. We have parties to go to, and people to see that we love.

We are lucky enough to have a good school to attend, where we can educate ourselves for the future when we will need to provide for our families.

We have a temple that is just a few minutes away, so easy to access.

The list goes on and on. We can't let the focus on Thanksgiving go straight to the food. I am not saying the food is a bad thing, I look forward to it every time. But we need to remember the people that don't have as much as we do.

Just food for thought this wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Love you all!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone :)

Now you probably are wondering why my post would start off with a title like "Fantastic Girls", and I will get to that.

I know so many AMAZING young women that have influenced my life so greatly, and have always had a smile on their face no matter what kind of day it has been.

Every girl is beautiful, and worth more than billion dollars, in fact, every girl is priceless. Absolutely priceless. I don't know where the world would be if there weren't wonderful girls like this.

So this is my thought for tonight, it was just on my mind, and I really wanted to tell you all what I thought about some of the best influences in my life.

Keep showing off those gorgeous smiles girls, there really is nothing as beautiful as a girl showing off her smile. :) You all mean a lot to me!!!

Seminary pretty much rocks :)

So today in seminary, we had a student teacher, who is awesome by the way, and he had us do an activity. He said we were on a plane that was crashing, but we had 5 minutes to write anything to anyone we wanted to say for our final words.

I was stumped. I have never actually thought about what my 'last words' would be, so it was pretty hard to figure out what I was going to say.

Finally, I figured out something great, something that I really believed in, that I wanted people to know, and I wrote it down, and I felt really great about it.

We passed our papers to the front.... and he collected them.... and he started ripping them up in front of us.

Now you can guess how sad this was for us, because we just poured our final words into that paper. But he taught us a good lesson about it.

What we didn't realize, is that all of our papers would obviously be destroyed in the crash, and no one would ever be able to read them. He told us that we needed to tell people beforehand how we felt, what we believed in, and who we loved before we only had 5 minutes of our life left. It really opened my eyes, and I am glad I went to seminary today.

Thanks Brother Bray, can't wait for the next lesson.

Tom Call and his quotes

So, when we were living in Brazil, we had a missionary named Tom Call, who was our secretary in the mission office at the time. Great missionary, worked hard, and was one of the coolest guys I had ever met.

A year or two after, I was back in Provo, and he was home from his mission, and I added him on facebook.

He has the most hilarious statuses ever. Like really. So I will periodically add a few of them to this blog for your entertainment. Here are a few to whet your comical appetites:

My friend was carving Pumpkins with his 5-year old nephew the other day when he could have sworn he heard him say, "That's what happens to snitches."

The Wizard of Oz is the Ultimate Chick Flick. It's about two women trying to kill each other over a pair of shoes.

If I see a car parked outside on a really hot day with a sticker that says "Baby on Board", am I legally obliged to break into it?

Well, that is Tom Call for you. Hope those laughs will tide you over until the next set!

A Tribute to the Seniors of Fall Band 2010

These are my homies, and I don't know what I would do without them. They seriously are the best, and they have made my life so much better!! I am going to miss them when we all go our separate ways, but I will always remember the great times we had together! You guys rock my world!! :)

Cakes and.... Stuff

Well, most of you probably wonder why my title is Cakes and Stuff. It's pretty simple.

'Cakes', which a lot of people call me, or also Matty Cakes, comes from none other than our very own Austin Hopkins and Haylee West. I can't quite remember how it went down, but they ended up calling me Matty Cakes, and soon everyone else started it too.

The 'Stuff' part of my title is well.... stuff. It is everything else pretty much.

So yeah, hope you guys enjoy my blog.... even though I feel like I am talking to myself since I don't have any followers yet.... it feels pretty lonely in here right now.....

Join soon! ;)
